Looks like Wes Anderson has done it again. His new film, Moonrise Kingdom, which comes out later this year, combine his classic themes of childish, innocent love, oncoming maturity, dysfunctional families, and sentimentality for places and things.
The art direction looks absolutely stunning; like a French film from the ’60s with Anderson’s usual absurdity and use of costume design to assign character. The cast is also a collection of the usual suspects (Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman) along with a handful of other famous faces (Frances McDormand, Ed Norton, Bruce Willis) and our young heroes are virtual unknowns. To say I’m excited would be a sad understatement.
